Vol. 34 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Estates—the Kirwan Estate.

Mr. Brodrick

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if the Land Commission have acquired for distribution the Kirwan Estate at Ballybrone, Turloughmore, Co. Galway; and, if so, when it is proposed to divide same.

The holding of Mr. H.J. Kirwan in the townland of Ballybrone on the Estate of Lady Camilla E. Blake has been declared a retained holding under Section 28 of the Land Act, 1923, and arrangements have been made with Mr. Kirwan for its surrender. A scheme for its division is in course of preparation but the Land Commission are not in a position at present to state when the scheme will be put into operation.
