Vol. 35 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Loans to Public Utility Societies.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state whether loans will be made available, in the near future, to public utility societies under the Housing (Ireland) Act, 1919, so that they can borrow up to 75 per cent. of the sum required to build houses.

Having regard to the commitments already entered into with urban local authorities for the making of advances out of the Local Loans Fund for the erection of houses for the working classes it is not proposed at present to provide further funds for the making of advances to public utility societies under the Housing (Ireland) Act, 1919.
