Vol. 35 No. 2

In Committee on Finance. - Vocational Education Bill, 1930—Money Resolution.

I move:

That it is expedient to authorise the payment out of moneys to be provided by the Oireachtas of any expenses incurred under the provisions of any Act of the present Session to make further and better provision in relation to continuation education and technical education.

I already explained on Second Reading what the estimated cost would be to the Central Fund of the proposed legislation in connection with vocational education. I indicated roughly that when the scheme was in full working order it would add a sum of between £150,000 and £160,000 to the amount of money paid out by the Oireachtas, or an advance of from £8,000 to £10,000, spread over a period of from fifteen to twenty years.

Resolution put and agreed to.
The Dáil went into Committee.
