Vol. 35 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Lewis Estate (Co. Galway).

Mr. Jordan (for Mr. Killilea)

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he will state the reason why the Land Commission have not given the information required by a registered letter sent by James Dwyer, of Lowertown, Woodford, in which he asked to be supplied with (1) a copy of the resumption notice served on Wm. J. Farren regarding holding No. 57 on the retained list (J. A. Lewis Estate, Co. Galway); (2) a copy of Mr. Farren's objection; and (3) a copy of the evidence given by Mr. Farren in support of his objection.

I have to refer the Deputy to my reply of the 30th April to his previous question on this matter. Requisitions completed and stamped have not since been received from Mr. Dwyer for those documents, copies of which the Land Commission is in a position to supply. It is not the practice to furnish copies of objections in such cases.

Mr. Jordan (for Mr. Killilea)

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he will state the reason why the Land Commission have not reinstated James Dwyer, of Lowertown, Woodford, Co. Galway (Record No. S.1990, J. A. Lewis Estate) in the holding from which his mother was evicted, being holding No. 57 on the retained list, and for which the Land Commission obtained a resumption order last November.

The position in this case was explained to the Deputy in reply to his question of the 26th March. The claim of Mr. James Dwyer will be fully considered in making a scheme of allotment for the lands.
