Private Business. - Land Bill, 1930—First Stage.

Leave given to introduce a "Bill entitled an Act to make provision for the early vesting of holdings in the purchasers thereof under the Land Purchase Acts and for that and other purposes to amend those Acts and the Local Registration of Title (Ireland) Act, 1891, and also to make provision in respect of the variation of certain tithe rent charges and variable rents." (Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Lands and Fisheries (Mr. Roddy).

When will the Second Stage be taken?

Thursday of next week.

I think a fortnight at least ought to be given before taking the Second Stage of such a very important measure.

If we are asked on Thursday for longer time we shall be prepared to consider the matter.

Second Stage ordered for Thursday, December 4th.
