Vol. 36 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Condition of Limerick Junction Post Office.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he has received complaints regarding the condition of the official residence at Limerick Junction; whether he is aware that members of the staff employed at the Post Office there have applied for transfer to other offices because of the damp and unsatisfactory condition of the residence, and the absence of proper facilities for cooking food; and whether, in view of the long-standing complaints from the staff, and in the interest of their health, he will take immediate steps to have the residence put in proper repair.

I have received complaints from the staff regarding the condition of the official residence at Limerick Junction. The accommodation there is not, in some respects, considered to be satisfactory. Plans have been under consideration, and are now advanced, for effecting the necessary improvements, which will be carried out without avoidable delay.
