Vol. 36 No. 7

Ceisteanna.—Questions. Oral Answers. - Co. Kildare Congests.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether he is aware of the large number of industrious and deserving congests in the townland of Nurney, Co. Kildare, and whether he will instruct the Land Commission when dividing the lands of the late Robert Murray (containing 178 acres), recently acquired by the Department, to take into favourable consideration the circumstances and conditions peculiar to the district, and the self-reliant, hard-working, character of these people, and to allot the lands in 5 to 10 acre parcels, so as to relieve the largest number, as requested by a resolution passed at a meeting of all the residents, held in Nurney on the 29th September, 1930.

The Land Commission have had inquiry made regarding the congestion existing in the locality of the lands of Nurney, and the representations of the Deputy and the request of the local people to which he refers will receive every consideration.
