Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Congestion in Co. Kildare.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether the Land Commission propose to acquire for the relief of acute congestion in the locality all or any of the untenanted lands held by Miss Sophie Sherlock in the townlands of Sherlockstown and Prospect, electoral division of Bodenstown, Co. Kildare, consisting of 118 acres, 0 roods, 20 perches, valuation £154 5s. 0d.; 28 acres, 2 roods, 0 perches, valuation £35 0s. 0d.; 214 acres, 0 roods, 9 perches, valuation £295 0s. 0d.; 166 acres, 2 roods, 9 perches, valuation £191 15s. 0d.; 198 acres, 0 roods, 28 perches, valuation £198 10s. 0d., and 24 acres, 0 roods, 0 perches, valuation £24 0s. 0d., making a total of 750 acres, 1 rood, 28 perches.

There are no proceedings pending before the Land Commission for the acquisition of the lands of Miss Sherlock, but the matter has been noted for consideration.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether the Land Commission propose to acquire for the relief of congestion the following untenanted farms held in the name of Mr. J.R. Kelly: 33 acres, 3 roods, 18 perches, valuation £21 5s. 0d.; and 82 acres, 0 roods, 9 porches, valuation £52 10s. 0d., both in the townland of Spratstown, electoral division of Ballitcre, Co. Kildare.

The question of acquiring Mr. J.R. Kelly's lands at Spratstown will be considered when the Land Commission are dealing with the Archbold estate under the provisions of the Land Acts, 1923-9.
