Vol. 37 No. 8

Ceisteanna.—Questions. Oral Answers. - Landslides in Mayo.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries whether the Executive Council will consider making an ex gratia grant to compensate the families in Glencullen Lower, Bangor-Erris, County Mayo, who suffered loss arising from landslides on 15th February, 1931.

The Land Commission have directed an Inspector to visit the place where the landslide occurred and to report immediately on the whole situation.

Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware of the urgency of the matter? Is he aware that eight families are now residing in the school because they are unable to live in their own homes, that they are penniless at the moment, and that their crops are covered up and destroyed?

Yes, I am aware of that.
