asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state the number of companies incorporated outside the Free State which have established places of business within the Free State and filed the prescribed particulars during the year ended December 31st, 1929, indicating the class of business in which they were engaged, according to the classification used in the Census of Production.
Ceisteanna.—Questions. Oral Answers. - Foreign Companies in Free State.
The answer to the first part of the question is twenty-five. Thirteen of these companies fall under the following headings:—Food, Drink and Tobacco, 1; Apparel, 2; Metals and Metal Manufacturers, 1; Chemicals, Oils and Paints, 2; Paper and Printing, 2; Other Industries, Trades and Businesses, 5.
The remaining companies do not fall under the headings used in the Census of Production as they are not producers.
