Vol. 37 No. 18

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Relief of Congestion in Mayo.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state when the lands known as Hollymount Demesne, at present in possession of Mr. McCartan, Hollymount House, and formerly part of the Lindsay Fitzpatrick estate, will be taken over by the Land Commission; and, if he will further state when these lands will be available for the relief of congestion in the area.

The owner of the lands of Lahinch Demesne and Hollymount Demesne has agreed to accept the price fixed by the Land Commission, and a scheme for the division of the lands is in course of preparation. Until this scheme has been completed and approved by the Land Commission they will not be in a position to state when these lands will be taken over and divided.

Am I to understand from the Parliamentary Secretary that the lands are not yet in the possession of the Land Commission?
