Vol. 37 No. 19

Ceisteanna—Questions. Written Answer. - A Blind Pension Claim.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state why the application of James Flavin, Finnally, Causeway, Co. Kerry, for the blind pension has been refused; and, if the Minister is aware that a very prominent local medical doctor has forwarded two certificates to the Department certifying blindness in this case.

An appeal in this case was decided on the 11th April, 1930, the claim for a blind pension being disallowed, as I was not satisfied on the evidence, including the report of the Medical Inspector of the Department who examined the claimant on the 11th February, 1930, that he was blind within the meaning of the Blind Persons Act, 1920.
