Our attitude to this Bill has been explained time and again. We have disapproved of the smallness of the amount of money made available for the relief of agriculture and we have disapproved of the manner in which the Government proposes to distribute it. The Government has had plenty of time to think over this problem. The whole problem was exhaustively examined by the De-rating Commission, and we think that this scheme of distribution is a very poor result of all their efforts. We shall, of course, have to accept £750,000 as some little measure of relief, but we disagree with the way in which it is to be raised. While disapproving of the Bill, we do not propose to vote against it.
