Vol. 39 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Galwolie-Doohary Road.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries to state if a petition submitted to the Land Commission some time ago applying for a grant for the purpose of constructing a new road, known as the Galwolie-Doohary bog road, Irwin Estate, Co. Donegal, has been considered; and, if so, what is the decision, if any, on the matter.

A petition applying for a grant for the improving and extension of a bog road in the townland of Galwolie-Doohary, was received and considered, but owing to the number and cost of works undertaken in Co. Donegal out of funds provided under the Vote for the relief of unemployment and distress it was not found possible to undertake the work out of that Vote.

Will there be any consideration given to this scheme at a later date?

I am afraid not. There is no money available.

Would it not come under the heading of improvement of estates?

It is on a vested estate.
