Vol. 40 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Hollymount Demesne.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state when the lands known as the Hollymount demesne, at present in the possession of Mr. McCartan, Hollymount House, will be made available for the relief of the congests and small landholders in the Hollymount district.

The Land Commission have completed negotiations for the purchase of the lands of Hollymount demesne and Lehinch demesne on the McCartan Estate and a scheme for their division is in course of preparation, but until this scheme has been completed and approved the Land Commission will not be in a position to state when the lands will be available for distribution.

What is the cause of the delay on the part of the Land Commission in taking over these lands?

There has been no delay.
