Vol. 40 No. 7

Death of Deputies. - Public Business

I propose to take items Nos. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 on the Orders of the Day if we get that far, and I propose to ask for all stages of No. 3, Customs Duties (Provisional Imposition) Bill, 1931, to-day. To that extent I want accommodation so that business will not be interrupted by Private Deputies' business.

Will the President make a statement as to the necessity for taking all stages of the Bill to-day?

That would be better perhaps on the Second Stage. With regard to Private Deputies' business I presume it is understood that the House has decided to proceed with No. 3, and that that particular business will not be interrupted at 9 o'clock. Otherwise Private Deputies' business will be taken then.

Ordered accordingly.

Can the President say if there will be time given for studying the Bill which we have not seen yet?

Certainly.
