The Civil Service Commissioners inform me that 10 applications were received for the post referred to and that, after consideration of the report of the Board by whom the candidates were interviewed, they were unable to recommend the appointment of any of the applicants. No appointment to the post has yet been made. I am aware that applicants had to pay a fee of the amount stated.
May I ask the Minister is the position going to be readvertised in the near future or is it to be held over for a considerable time?
I do not think it will be advertised within the near future. Other steps may be taken to find a person.
Would the Minister have any objection to stating if there is an official in another Department for whom this vacancy will be held over?
I could not give the Deputy any further information.
