Vol. 40 No. 24

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Industrial School Teachers.

asked the Minister for Education whether it is his intention to make provision for pensions for trained and certified teachers serving in recognised industrial schools in the proposed legislation dealing with teachers' salaries and pensions.

Section 56 of the Children Act, 1908, empowers the managers of industrial schools to establish a superannuation scheme for their teachers and other officers. In reply to a question addressed to me by the Deputy on 15th March, 1928, I explained the position and tenure of teachers employed in those schools, and I am not at present in a position to add anything to the information then given.
