Vol. 41 No. 6

Public Business. - Intoxicating Liquor (Occasional Licences) Bill, 1932—First Stage.

I move for leave to introduce:

"A Bill entitled an Act to make special provision in respect of occasional licences for the sale of intoxicating liquor granted in respect of premises situate within the grounds of the industrial and agricultural fair intended to be held in or near the City of Cork in the year 1932."

Leave granted.

When is it proposed to take the Second Stage?

I propose to circulate this Bill immediately, and, with the concurrence of the House, I would ask that the Second Reading be taken on Friday.

Will all the stages of the Bill be completed this week?

It is quite possible that the Bill will be completed in this House this week. I think there will be comparatively little controversy on it.

Is there any reason why the Minister could not take the Second Reading of the Bill to-morrow? I imagine that it would not take longer than ten minutes. I am sure the House will agree that it should go through all its Stages to-morrow.

If there is co-operation on all sides of the House there ought to be no difficulty whatever in doing what the Deputy has suggested.

Ordered: That the Second and remaining Stages of the Bill be taken on Thursday, 28th April.
