Vol. 41 No. 10

Written Answers. - Division of Mayo Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state what steps, if any, are being taken to divide the lands of Kilrush, Coolaghbawn, Cahernamallock and Ballyjennings on the Bowen Estate, Barony of Kilmaine, Co. Mayo, which were acquired by the Irish Land Commission on the 1st May, 1931.

The lands to which the Deputy refers appear to be the tenanted holding of James J. Hession, lands of Coolaghbawn, Bowen Estate, S 3284, which vested in the Land Commission on 1st May, 1931. The holding has been included in a list of retained holdings with a view to the institution of proceedings for its resumption, and the matter is at present receiving attention, but the Land Commission are not yet in a position to state if and when the lands will be available for distribution.
