Vol. 43 No. 3

Housing (Financial and Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill, 1932—First Stage.

Leave granted to introduce a "Bill entitled an Act to make further and better provision for the financial assistance of local authorities and others in the erection and reconstruction of dwelling-houses, to ensure the supply of building materials and appliances at reasonable prices, and for those and other purposes to amend the Housing of the Working Classes Acts, 1890 to 1931, the Labourers Acts, 1883 to 1931, the Housing Acts, 1925 to 1930, and the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1931, and to make provision for other matters connected with the matters aforesaid." (Minister for Local Government and Public Health).
Bill read the First Time.

Is the change simply in the Title?

Yes, "the Housing Acts, 1925 to 1930," is the change really.

Owing to the importance of the Bill, I think the House will readily accede to a request to take the Second Stage of the Bill to-day.

According to the arrangement come to, the Bill will be taken to-morrow.

Ordered:—That the Second Stage of the Bill be taken on Friday, 8th July.
