Vol. 43 No. 9

Order of Business.

The business is the Emergency Imposition of Duties Bill, which we have been specially summoned to discuss.

How long is it proposed to sit to-day? Are the hours of the sitting regulated?

There is no Standing Order governing the duration of a special sitting such as this. When the Dáil is summoned to deal with certain specified business, the House sits until that business is transacted.

It is laid down in the Standing Orders that the House shall sit until a specified hour on Fridays. Does this Standing Order govern the duration of a special session or is there any special order governing the duration of a special session?

As I have already stated, there is no such Standing Order.
