Vol. 44 No. 1

Death of Deputy F. Carney.

The House will have learned with very deep regret of the sudden death, in Dublin this morning, of Deputy Frank Carney, one of the members for the constituency of Donegal. Deputy Carney was a devoted soldier in the struggle for Irish freedom. During his time in Irish public life he was ever mindful of the interests of the people he represented and, though in ill-health, he was assiduous in the performance of the duties attaching to membership of this House. I would ask you, a Chinn Chomhairle, to convey to Deputy Carney's family an expression of our sincere regret and sympathy: Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Deputies rose in their places.
