Vol. 44 No. 2

In Committee on Finance. - Vote No. 12—State Laboratory.

I move:—

Go ndeontar suim ná raghaidh thar £2,110 chun slánuithe na suime is gá chun íoctha an Mhuirir a thiocfaidh chun bheith iníoctha i rith na bliana dar críoch an 31adh lá de Mhárta, 1933, chun Tuarastail agus Costaisí na Saotharlainne Stáit.

That a sum not exceeding £2,110 be granted to complete the sum necessary to defray the Charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1933, for the Salaries and Expenses of the State Laboratory.

Mr. Hayes

This may be a question which it is not quite fair to put to the Minister without notice. State Counsel, I understand, has resigned and taken up another post. Could the Minister say whether steps are being taken to fill that post through the ordinary Civil Service Commission channels or whether promotion is being resorted to? It is interesting to certain people to know.

So far no steps have been taken to fill the post and no decision has been taken as to whether it will be filled through the Civil Service Commissioners or whether promotion will be resorted to.

Vote put and agreed to.
