Vol. 44 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions Oral Answers. - Revised Budget Tables.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will circulate to members of the Dáil a revise of the table circulated during the Budget discussions showing for each of the eleven groups there defined (1) the reduced yield as estimated by the Accountant General and (2) the actual yield to the latest available date.

(1) It is not the practice to circulate detailed estimates of Revenue under the various heads of duty during the currency of the financial year.

The duties shown in the table referred to were considerably modified in scope subsequent to the dates of the original Orders and Resolutions, and other tariff changes have also been introduced affecting the yield from these protective duties. For these reasons it is not proposed to circulate a revise of the table.

(2) The approximate receipts of Revenue from the new protective duties (as distinct from the yield from articles already dutiable) in the period from 1st April, 1932, to 22nd October, 1932, amounted to £111,400.
