Vol. 44 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions Oral Answers. - Exemptions Under Housing Act.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will exempt farmers and others living in rural areas from the provisions of Paragraph 14 (a) and (b) of Memorandum B. issued by his Department under the Housing (Financial and Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1932.

The provisions of paragraph 14 (a) and (b) of the Memorandum referred to have recently been revised in my Department. A copy of the revised Memorandum is being sent to the Deputy and its amended provisions will, I trust, meet the requirements of the persons interested.

I should like to ask the Minister if the Ministry realised the great difficulty which small householders would have in submitting the kind of plan referred to in the original memorandum issued by the Department?

The difficulties to which the Deputy refers were in mind when the amendments were made.
