Vol. 44 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Employment on Relief Works.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if his attention has been drawn to dissatisfaction among the unemployed in the Rathfarnham, Ballyboden and other districts in the County Dublin, consequent on the introduction by the Labour Exchanges of labour from the City of Dublin at relief works throughout the county, and, if so, whether he proposes to take any steps to remove the grievances alleged.

I have not received complaints of the nature referred to by the Deputy. As a result of enquiries which I have instituted I am satisfied that for all vacancies notified by the Dublin County Council to the Dublin Employment Exchange, men residing in the County Council area were selected.
