Vol. 45 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Price of Belgian Cement.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state what, according to his Departmental records, was the average price per ton (delivered at the principal Saorstát ports) paid for Belgian cement, equal to British standard specification in quality, in each of the years 1927, 1928, 1929, 1930 and 1931.

I have no records other than those published in the "Trade and Shipping Statistics" to which I would refer the Deputy.

Again, the Minister will recollect his promise to the House was that cement under his proposals could be imported here at a less price than Belgian cement. It he does not know the price of Belgian cement how could he have made that statement?

I will refer the Deputy to the records to which I have referred.
