Vol. 45 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Accommodation for Gárda Síochána.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware of the unsatisfactory conditions under which the Gárda Síochána are housed in Wexford Town, and if he will make representations to the Minister for Finance with a view to having one central barrack erected for the accommodation of the Gárda in that town.

I am aware that the conditions under which the Gárda Síochána are housed in Wexford Town are not satisfactory.

The representations referred to in the second part of the question have already been made.

Has the Minister consulted Deputy Corry regarding the cost of the erection of suitable premises?

Can the Minister indicate when a decision will be arrived at in connection with the matter?

So far as I am aware, the utmost expedition is being used by the engineers of the Board of Works in connection with the matter.
