Vol. 45 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Going Estate (Co. Tipperary).

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state what is the present position regarding the Going Estate, Ballyphilip, Ballingarry, Co. Tipperary, whether this estate has yet been acquired by the Land Commission for the relief of the acute congestion which exists in the district, and, if not, when its acquisition will take place.

If the Deputy refers to the lands of the late Mr. Hughes at Ballyphilip, formerly part of the Going Estate, proceedings are still in progress for the acquisition of these lands. The prescribed provisional list has been published together with the statutory declaration that the lands are required for the relief of congestion, and the Land Commission hope to be in a position, at an early date, to communicate to the owners the price which they will be prepared to offer for the lands.
