Vol. 45 No. 6

Written Answers. - Acquisition of Louth Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state what is the present position regarding the lands of Rathnestin and the lands of Pepperstown, County Louth, and whether it is the intention of the Land Commission to acquire those lands for the relief of congestion.

The Land Commission have directed an inspector to report on the lands of Rathnestin, held by Captain Filgate, and on receipt of the report the question of the acquisition of the lands will be considered. The Land Commission will, in due course, consider the question of instituting proceedings for the resumption of the holding of Francis Fisher in the townland of Pepperstown on the Shackleton estate.
