Vol. 46 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Stradbally Water Scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the date when the plans and estimates for the provision of a water supply scheme for the town of Stradbally, Co. Leix, were first received in his Department; whether and, if so, how many times, the plans and estimates were returned to the consulting engineer for necessary alteration or amendment; whether satisfactory plans have yet been received or sanctioned by his Department, and, if so, what grant he is prepared to allocate for carrying out this scheme.

(1) The original plans for this scheme were received in the Department on the 11th December, 1931, and were returned to the consulting engineer for amendment on the 11th January, 1932.

(2) It was found necessary to return plans subsequently submitted on three further occasions.

(3) Amended plans have now been received which with some slight alterations can be approved.

(4) I am not at present in a position to inform the Deputy what grant could be made available from State resources towards the cost of the scheme.
