Vol. 46 No. 2

Supplementary and Additional Estimates. - Moneylenders Bill, 1933—First Stage.

I move for leave to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to amend the law with respect to persons carrying on business as moneylenders.

Is this motion unopposed?

When does the Deputy propose to take the Second Reading?

Next Wednesday.

Then I will oppose the motion now.

This Bill was introduced before and it was practically an agreed measure.

But this is a new House with new members. Is the Deputy prepared to take the Second Reading this day fortnight?

I am quite agreeable to that course.

In that case, I will not oppose.

Leave to introduce granted. Second Stage fixed for Wednesday, 15th March.
