Vol. 46 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mountmellick Sewerage Scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state whether plans and estimates for the provision of a sewerage scheme for the town of Mountmellick, County Leix, have been received and sanctioned by his Department, and if he can state the estimated cost for carrying out this work and what is the amount of the grant it is proposed to allocate for same.

Plans and other documents relating to the proposed sewerage scheme for Mountmellick were received in my Department and the proposals were discussed with the engineer to the board of health on the 9th ultimo. Certain amendments were suggested. The amended plans were received on the 28th ultimo and are under examination. The allocation of a grant would rest with the Minister for Finance. No indication can be given at present as to what grant may be made available.
