Vol. 46 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Reopening of Edenderry Factory.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if owing to the burning of Alesbury's factory in Navan he is prepared to recommend and assist the reopening of the factory in Edenderry, especially since most of the machinery required is still retained in Edenderry.

The position of Alesbury Brothers, Limited, is being carefully considered by the Directors of the Company, and also by my Department. Pending a decision on the wider question, I am not in a position to make any statement as regards the Edenderry Factory.

Is the Minister in a position to state approximately when he hopes to be able to do so?

I am unable at the moment to do so. A lot depends on the result of the consideration that is being given to the question by the Directors of the Company.
