Vol. 46 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mulkear Drainage Scheme.

asked the Minister for Finance if having regard to the urgency of the scheme and the abnormal unemployment at present in the Cappamore District, County Limerick, he will state if it is intended to make an early start on the Mulkear Drainage Scheme.

The drainage scheme prepared by the Commissioners of Public Works for the Mulkear and Cappamore district has recently been voted on by the occupiers of affected lands. Approximately 42 per cent. of the occupiers voted against the scheme and arrangements are being made to hold in the near future the statutory public inquiry in respect of the objections.

If, following the report of the inquiry, the scheme is confirmed, there will be no undue delay in starting the works.
