Vol. 46 No. 16

In Committee on Finance. - Railways Bill, 1933—Money Resolution.

I move:—

That it is expedient to authorise the payment out of moneys provided by the Oireachtas of any expenses incurred under any Act of the present session to amend the law relating to railways and railway companies.

The Bill provides for the cancellation of three loans which involve a loss to the State of £15,024 per annum. There are two assessors who may be appointed under Clause 9, sub-section (6), to assist the Railway Tribunal, and some part of the expenditure that may arise under that head will have to be borne by the State. There is some possibility of slight charges to State funds arising out of the increased activities of the Railway Tribunal under the Bill, but it is intended that the fees to be charged by the Railway Tribunal shall meet that increased cost.

Question put and agreed to.
