Vol. 48 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Housing Reconstruction (County Cork).

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state the number of applications made for reconstruction grants under the Housing Financial and Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1932, in respect of County Cork; the number inspected and the number sanctioned, and whether in view of the fact that the operation of the Housing (Gaeltacht) Act, 1929, is practically suspended in the county and that it is necessary to carry out reconstruction work in the summer months he will have the inspection of all outstanding applications expedited as much as possible.

The total number of applications to date made for reconstruction grants under the Housing (Financial and Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1932, in respect of the County Cork is 632. Of this number 264 have been inspected and 135 sanctioned. To expedite the necessary inspections in this county, arrangements have been made to provide an additional inspector for the district.
