Vol. 48 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballindine (Mayo) Old Age Pension Claim.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he is aware that Patrick Sheridan, Cullane, Ballindine, was recommended by the Ballindine Sub-Committee for an old age pension of 10/- per week on the 28th January, 1933; that an appeal was made by the pensions officer against the decision of the Sub-Committee; that the appeal is still pending, and if he will state the cause of the delay in deciding the appeal or when it will be dealt with.

There is very considerable pressure of work in dealing with a large number of appeals. It has been necessary to supplement the staff and every effort is being made to secure the earliest decisions possible. The case referred to will be taken in the ordinary course.
