Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Collection of Land Annuities.

asked the Minister for Lands and Fisheries if he will state (1) the total amount of land purchase annuities collected in respect of all lands bought out under the Land Purchase Acts passed prior to the Treaty of Agreement between Great Britain and Ireland, (a) for the year ended 31st March, 1932, and (b) for the year ended 31st March, 1933; (2) the total amount of land purchase annuities collected under the Acts passed by the Oireachtas, (a) for the year ended 31st March, 1932, and (b) for the year ended 31st March, 1933; (3) further, if he will state whether the amounts so collected in respect of lands bought out under the Act of 1923 and subsequent Acts have been applied to meet the obligations of the State to the holders of land bonds, and, if so applied, the amounts (a) for the year ended 31st March, 1932, and (b) for the year ended 31st March, 1933.

(1) The total amount of Land Purchase Annuities collected by the Land Commission in respect of all lands purchased under the Land Purchase Acts, 1881 to 1909, was—for the year ended the 31st March, 1932, £3,032,871, and for the year ended the 31st March, 1933, £1,579,338.

(2) The total amount of Land Purchase Annuities collected under the Lands Acts, 1923 to 1931, was—for the year ended the 31st March, 1932, £485,522, and for the year ended the 31st March, 1933, £448,003.

(3) All sums collected in respect of Land Purchase Annuities payable under the Land Acts, 1923-31, are paid into the Land Bond Fund in accordance with the statutory regulations.
