Will the Parliamentary Secretary say what has happened the Gaeltacht Housing Acts, when the total for the three months April, May, June, 1933, is only 59, while the sanctions for the corresponding three months in 1931 was 969?

The Deputy is in error when he says that the sanctions for 1933 were only 59. The correct number is 79. Sanctions are promises to pay, but I direct attention to the other parts of the reply, namely, amounts paid.

Mr. Lynch

As far as the amounts paid are concerned, are not these amounts paid when the new buildings or repairs are nearing completion? Are not these moneys paid out really on sanction issued long before the Parliamentary Secretary took office?

In some cases yes.

Mr. Lynch

Is it not so in 85 or 90 per cent. of the cases?

I could not give the exact figure.
