Vol. 49 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kanturk Housing Conditions.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state whether he has received representations from a special meeting of the Kanturk Housing Committee to the effect that housing conditions in Kanturk are very bad and that the erection of at least 50 cottages is very necessary and whether he has considered the representations made and will give the necessary powers and facilities to have the cottages erected immediately.

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. I have already urged the Cork County Board of Public Health as to the need for the expediting of the proposed new schemes under the Labourers Acts. The special needs of Kanturk will be brought to the notice of the Housing Board.
