Vol. 49 No. 9

Workmen's Compensation Bill, 1933—First Stage.

Leave granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to consolidate and amend the law relating to compensation to workmen for injuries suffered in the course of their employment.— (Minister for Industry and Commerce.)

We propose to take the Second Stage this day week. It is not likely that the Bill will be taken further, prior to the Recess.

When will the Bill be circulated?

Probably this week-end. It is not intended to take the Bill during the present Session, unless the Session extends into September.

The Minister is not aware of the fact that the same statement was made about other Bills?

Any statements made by us are strictly accurate.

Except they are altered.

Second Stage fixed for Tuesday, 8th August.
