Vol. 49 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - The Irish Lights Service.

asked the Minister for External Affairs if there have been any recent approaches to the British Government in relation to the Irish Lights Service; and, if so, with what result.

I refer the Deputy to the reply given to him on the 27th October, 1932. The question of the future administration of Irish Lights has not yet been concluded. If the Deputy will repeat his question on the first day of next session, I hope to be able to make a statement to the House.

I have not asked about the effect of these negotiations. What I asked was if any approaches have recently been made.

I have given my answer.

Might I ask to have the answer repeated.

I do not think that it should be necessary to repeat it.

Then I take it that there have been no recent approaches. Might I ask the President if there has been any change in the situation since the Minister for Industry and Commerce stated on the 27th April that he would arrange for negotiations to be resumed in due course. There is no answer. Then I take it that negotiations have not even been resumed.
