Vol. 49 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Drogheda Shooting Outrage.

asked the Minister for Justice if any investigation has been made into the shooting outrage at or near the home of Superintendent Casserly at Drogheda on July 16th; what has been discovered through this investigation, and if it is expected that any person or persons will be apprehended and tried as a result.

Exhaustive investigations were instituted into the outrage in question and enquiries are still proceeding. I think that it would not be in the public interest to give any information as to what has been, or may be, discovered.

Can the Minister give us any indication as to when he hopes to be in a position to state finally what is going to happen in connection with this matter?

I could not say at the moment.

Would the Minister be prepared to answer the question in a fortnight's time?

If I have any further information, yes.

Does the Minister think he will be in a position in a fortnight's time to give information?

At the moment I could not say.

We will have another try in a week's time.
