Vol. 49 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Potato Failure in West Kerry.

asked the Minister for Finance whether, in view of the fact that the farmers in the Maharees district in West Kerry have sustained serious losses as a result of the almost total failure of this year's potato crop, he will have made available a substantial grant by way of relief works in the area.

Minor relief schemes are in course of preparation for the poorer areas of County Kerry in which the need for relief measures is known to exist, including amongst others the district referred to in the question.
