Vol. 49 No. 18

Question on Adjournment.

I gave notice that I would raise on the motion for the adjournment this evening the question of the announcement in the Government Press this morning that local elections were being postponed and the fact that I could not get a private question answered by the Minister for Local Government and Public Health to-day as to whether that was or was not so. If, however, Deputy MacDermot is anxious to raise on the adjournment the subject-matter of Question No. 7, I desire to withdraw my notice, although I think it is an extraordinary thing that the Press is able to announce the postponement of elections and the Minister declines to tell the House to-day anything about it.

I, therefore, shall raise on the adjournment this evening the subject-matter of Question No. 7, dealing with scenes at Tralee on October 6th.
