Vol. 49 No. 18

Order of Business.

It is proposed to deal with item 1 and items 3 to 17, inclusive, on the Order Paper. Private Members' Time will be from 9 o'clock, as usual.

Will the President say whether there is any truth in the report that it is proposed to adjourn the House for a protracted period at the end of this week?

It depends on what the Deputy means by a protracted period and the rate at which we will get through the business. There was a suggestion, I do not think it is quite accurate, that there might not be business at the end of this week, in which case it would be necessary to adjourn the Dáil for a period of some weeks.

How many weeks?

Two or three.

Will the President say not more than three weeks?

That is the intention at present—two or three weeks.
