Vol. 49 No. 19

Constitution (Amendment No.20) Bill, 1933—Committee and Final Stages.

Bill passed through Committee without amendment and reported.
Question proposed: "That the Bill be now received for Final Consideration."

I would like to ask the President whether this Bill and the other two that go with it complete his programme of making alterations in the Constitution in the direction of removing what he considers as indignities from the Constitution. Does that complete his programme in so far as it can be completed while adhering to the Treaty?

I would not like to say that.

I did not catch the President's observations.

I cannot guarantee that.

No man shall fix a boundary——

I am not asking the President to guarantee anything. I would like to know whether he has any further measures in mind.

I could hardly answer that accurately either.

What Deputy MacDermot wants to know is whether the King is dead finally and irrevocably.

Question agreed to.

Question—"That the Bill do now pass"—agreed to.

R.I.P. now.
