In Committee on Finance. - Vote No. 21—Miscellaneous Expenses.

I move:

Go ndeontar suim Bhreise ná raghaidh thar £105 chun íoctha an Mhuirir a thiocfaidh chun bheith iníoctha i rith na bliana dar críoch an 31adh lá de Mhárta, 1934, chun Costaisí Ilghnéitheacha áirithe, maraon le Deontaisí áirithe i gCabhair.

That a Supplementary sum not exceeding £105 be granted to defray the Charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending 31st March, 1934, for certain Miscellaneous Expenses, including certain Grants-in-Aid.

The object of this Supplementary Estimate is to enable the Executive Council to provide a Plate of one hundred guineas to be run at the Curragh Races on 1st November next. The Plate will be known as the Saorstát Plate of one hundred guineas presented by the Executive Council and will replace the prize formerly presented by the Governor-General. It is intended that the race will be an annual feature of the October or November Curragh programme, so that it will be necessary in every year to make provision for a sum of one hundred guineas.
